The Washington Section
Washington is the southeast section — the closest part of Nutley to Newark and the Parkway, with the most varied housing stock of any zone. The median sale here ($650K) sits below town-wide, but the 17-day median DOM ties for the fastest in town. Buyers who care more about commute-by-car and less about lot size frequently land here.

The Section, Plainly
What it's like to live in Washington
Washington covers the southeast corner of Nutley, south of Franklin Avenue and east toward the Passaic River. The section is geographically the closest to Newark, the Parkway south, and Route 21 — which makes it the easiest section to commute from by car.
The housing stock here is the most varied in Nutley. Post-war Capes and Ranches sit on the same blocks as earlier Colonials; lot sizes range widely; the architectural “feel” changes from block to block more than it does in Yantacaw or Radcliffe. That variety is part of why median sale price is lower — not because the section is undesirable, but because the stock is less consistent.
The 17-day median DOM, second-fastest in town, tells the actual demand story. Well-priced Washington homes clear comps quickly; this is not a buyer's section. The blocks west of Centre Street, closer to the high school, tend to clear higher than those further east.
